Cape of Good Hope TourThis follows the Western (Atlantic) seaboard of the Cape Peninsula, taking in the trip to Seal Island, lunch along the coast and reaches the SW tip of Africa at the Cape of Good Hope. The return follows the eastern (False Bay) coast where the penguin colony at Boulders is visited; there is a stop in Simons Town where we meet Just Nuisance the Great Dane. A great day for animal lovers.

Stellenbosch WinelandsWe start the trip with a walk through charming Stellenbosch, the town containing more 200-300 year old Cape Dutch architecture than any other in South Africa, and includes ye olde world Oom Samie se Winkel. There follows the first of several wine tastings at selected vineyards and lunch is enjoyed on a wine farm. Don't forget to buy that special vintage for dinner that night as BYO ( bring your own [wine] ) is permitted in South Africa.

Whale WatchingWhat is claimed to be the best shore-based whale watching in the world (the whales sometimes come to within 50 metres off the shore), can be had at Hermanus, reached via a scenic coastal route some 1 1/2 hours' drive from Cape Town. The trip returns via an apple growing area on a 400 metre plateau and wine tasting can be enjoyed on either route. June to November only.

West Coast National Park & Wild FlowersBoth of these highlights can be experienced in this National Park about 1hour & 15minutes drive from Cape Town, together with stunning elevated views of a large lagoon, the home of thousands of pelicans. See the barren veld which has come alive with carpets of wild flowers while eland and other animals graze contentedly under our gaze. Close by is SA's best fossil park - sabre toothed tigers really did exist here
